Rams re-sign pair of defensive linemen

While contract discussions continue between the St. Louis Rams and free agent tackle Jake Long, general manager Kevin Demoff managed to complete a couple deals to hold on to a pair of their own.

According to Howard Balzer, the Rams have re-signed defensive end William Hayes and defensive tackle Jeremelle Cudjo.

“As we go back through the tape in the last couple of months, [Cudjo] was a productive player for us. He came in and he was always ready and so we wanted to get that done,” head coach Jeff Fisher said. “Then of course Will was a priority of ours also. The way he played last year really helped the defense up front and we envision him maybe getting more snaps this year and in the years to come. Will, with the seven sacks as a backup, is pretty impressive.”

Hayes appeared in all 16 games with the Rams last season after spending the first four years of his career with the Tennessee Titans. He had the most productive season of his career with seven sacks as a rotational lineman for the Rams.

Cudjo played in 15 games with four starts and made 21 tackles with one sack.

William Hayes is very underrated! Good move Rams. Keep the depth. San Fran and the Seahawks are getting beat up worse this year.

Hayes is a beast that could start for half the teams in the NFL. Big move getting him back.

media always messes up our stuff. Even NFLN had Mikkell listed as a LB.

Guess it’s asking too much for people to do their due diligence
