Gronk and Pitta were drafted the same year. Gronk in the second round, Pitta in the 4th. The tender for Pitta is a second round plus his salary. This means he’s valued A LOT higher than drafted…into Gronk territory.

Now I still think Gronk is a beast with no comparison but if another team thinks Pitta is worth the asking price they are essentially saying he’s worth what people thought Gronk was worth in the 2010 draft. And that is two rounds higher than Oz got him.

Cincinnati is a poor organization. Sure, the spike up once in a while, but please wake me up when Marvin Lewis actually wins a playoff game. And Cleveland, I guess it’s ok to keep hoping. But giving $41 mil to a one trick pony with 6 career starts, doesn’t exactly give me confidence that the Brownies are heading in the right direction.

We lose players every year – it’s a “condition” of drafting well:). And with our front office, we don’t “rebuild”, we “reload”. That is why our playoff windows don’t close.

I can’t wait to see who Ozzie brings in with 12 picks is year. Last year he brought us Upshaw, Osemele, and Pierce. And he got a gem in Justin Tucker as an UDFA! We also get Webby back at corner, and a healthy Suggs.

If the ravens had not let go half their talent, I would say teams would already be giving up their second and trying to land pitta. But just like Rice’s early years… Pitta is only getting the stats because that’s the first person flacco looks to on half his drop-backs.

While this may be true, I’m going to go out on a limb and say they will finish 3rd in the division behind Cincy and Pitt. Their reign is over for a while. Not going to win a Super Bowl with only a handful of good players.

The Ravens are still sitting on Q’s $7.5M cap hit right now, so they wouldn’t have the ability to match (most likely) until Q comes back from Africa, takes his physical and officially signs. Despite not having that money yet, the Ravens are still sitting on a solid$10-12M in cap room so it’s not like they are pinched. Furthermore, word in Baltimore is that they’re sitting on Leach- if an opportunity comes up to sign a player that requires opening up more space? They’ll cut him. If not? They’ll keep him. That’s an extra $4.3M if they need it. So no, nobody is going to swoop in, offer Pitta a 3-4 year contract at $10M per year that the Ravens cant match, along with tossing out a second round pick in a draft that has plenty of TE depth.

And Squealer fans- I don’t know why you’re so obsessed with the Ravens “crumbling.” You know what the major difference is between our teams? We’re losing/cutting key players because we want to get younger and cheaper, while not overpaying (Kruger,Ellerbe and Cary all got overpaid). Pitt is cutting/losing players because they can’t afford anybody. Tell me folks, how much cap room does Pitt have? Yea… thought so.

Tomlin won the Super Bowl in his second season and got to his second Super Bowl in his fourth season.
