@wgray981…I think the Browns are trying to get as many pieces in place on defense, to grab Patterson at 6. They could easily go offense if Milliner is not there.

Achilles injuries are nasty and can end careers. Nobody knows how well Grimes is going to respond after his injury heals. He’s a huge risk for anyone that’s going to give him the big bucks he’s seeking.

This isn’t a “difference maker” draft. I could sit at 6 & take Milliner or move down & take Rhodes in the 16-22 range. If I moved down & added a 2, I could go Warmack & add Trufant, Banks, Wreh Wilson, in the 2nd, Alford or Slay in the 3rd. I could also go Guard, Jamie Collins in the 2nd (I think this guy is the best Jack/Joker prospect in the draft), & go with Slay or Alford in the 3rd. They could also move down for Mingo, go corner in the 2nd, & take UK RG Larry Warford in the 3rd.

This is more of a deep draft, like 09′ where all of this yrs FA corners were being drafted in the 3rd/4th rds, rather than one where you can get a big time difference maker in the Top 10. Only way I stay at 6 is if I want Geno Smith or need a Tackle. Anything else, I’m moving down!

Always thought Grimes was a good CB. Too bad he was injured, because he was excellent on coverage. If the Browns could get this guy on the cheaper side, it’s not a bad risk to take.

I hear ya man that would be great to recoup that 2nd rounder. But to be honest Im sick of trading down and adding 2nd tier talent in the draft. I say we stay put and draft a difference making play maker at 6. We need elite playmakers not 2nd and 3rd round fallbacks. A couple more of those and we are there. I mean…..we are so close. Feel it? I do.

Sign a vet…..draft Milliner, throw him in packages and let him learn the ropes until hes ready for the full time start which should be almost immediately. Move the odd man to the packages and Brown to Safety next to Ward. Or drop Brown and bring in a FA safety. Talk about a stout secondary.

If no DB in the draft just follow this same formula for Jordon, Jones, Ansah, etc..

Hoped Grimes would visit Oakland. He’s older and coming off injury he should be very affordable. Browns might be trouble this year. If they can get a QB the offensive side has weapons at RB and two WRs (Gordon and Little)

Signing Grimes to go oppo Haden, Kruger playing the Jack & bookend to Sheard, Groves as an excellent rotational guy & a stacked line, the Browns D becomes best in the AFCN.
