The minute the raiders traded for palmer, Louis Murphy tanked.he was tight with Jason Campbell, and resented hue for the trade. He became cancer on the team after that.

I’d love to see what he can do here. Hixon did not step up after Nicks went down. I don’t think he’s more than a 4th-5th option. Barden never did quite pan out as the replacement for Plaxico. Jernigan is a non-factor I think. Randle may yet beat Murphy out on the depth chart though. Randle could be very productive if he could get 5-6 targets a game and take the load off of Cruz and Nicks.

If Hixon comes back, and I sure hope he does, as his ACL in OTA’s two years ago, made him even better last year, this guy is got value, this is a simple Barden replacement, who had size 6’6 but could not find his nit-ch due to injuries.
I got nothing on this kid, but if Reese/Coughlin signed him, he’s already a ST’s player, with speed.

I agree that now he has legit team that can utilize his speed, but this signing has nothing to do with Mr. Salsa. This signing replaces Barsden and we know Dominick will be back with a one year prove yourself deal.

The Murphy signing seems more of a replacement for Hixon or Barden than a contingency plan if they lose Cruz.

Call me crazy, but I like this signing. He has never had a legit QB or a lot of talent around him to work with. Its a solid, low cost roster spot for a guy with speed to go deep, and if memory serves, he’s quite a good downfield blocker as well. Not a bad move at all.

The Giants seem to be able to get the most out of their receivers. This is a good spot for Murphy. He’ll learn if he has what it takes, for a long career in the NFL.
