Bottom line The legacy of Belichick is forever tarnished. Deal with it. Its good to acknowledge these things in order to recover & live on. This league is so competitive those events have proven that having that extra ill gotten information made all the difference in winning those titles.

As for Revis your elementary comments about the negotiation process give your ignorance away about your level of understanding of where the leverage is in this situation. Let me school you as follows…
1. Jets don’t need to be in any rush to trade Revis. This 1 Million & other 5 Million as others pointed out means nothing in the bigger scheme of things & will be recouped if he’s traded.
2. Our first opportunity will be to trade him up until the draft when any number of deals could be made. Of course teams would have to do this on the basis of trust that he’ll fully recover from his injury. We’d probably get 75% of his pre-injury value here.
3. Our second opportunity is to keep him into summer until he’s made his way back on the field and is in practice & pre-season games showing his physical capabilities again where teams would gain more confidence about making a deal for him. This is arguably the better play.
4. We’ll only start loosing leverage once the season starts a couple games in & ultimately could sign him ourselves at this point if we haven’t already.
5. An unknown factor in all this is how much Revis is willing to bet on himself & his recovery vs giving himself some insurance by making a reasonable deal now. Does he want to go all in? We’ll see. I doubt it but the current FA low cornerback market values could bring him to his senses & Jets could do a deal with him.

We are still early in the game here with Revis so wipe the adolesent snot off your grimey faces & settle down while the adults get the deal done.
