Chargers outside linebacker Antwan Barnes just tweeted out word that he was going to join the Jets.

Originally a fourth-round pick of the Ravens, he has ties to both coach Rex Ryan and new defensive coordinator Dennis Thurman.
UPDATE 2:10 p.m. ET: OK, this is terrific. Barnes apparently jumped the gun on his own signing. Stay tuned.

Garrard is an upgrade over Sanchez.
Goodson is an upgrade over Greene.
Colon is an upgrade over Slauson.
Barnes is an upgrade over Pace or Thomas.

I love the way you talk about all the Jets who are “leaving”. The majority of them were older, overpaid players past their prime. Most of them were shown the door.
Chargers are going to miss this guy.
On the bright side he’s getting paid.

When the roachcoach gets fired next year you will get a good coach and then you will be on your way to a MUCH better season.

With the mess he was left with, and the short time he’s been on the job, please explain how he could have done better?
I don’t care who was named GM, at best they be tied with Idzik’s performance thus far.
Hard to spin gold from straw, and Rumpelstilskin is gone.
Barnes is the absolute definition of a one-trick-pony. He gets absolutely mauled in the running game, and couldn’t cover me in the flat. Granted I’m really, really fast, guys. Saying that, he is good on obvious passing downs, and that’s about it. Good sign, if he came cheap.
This would be an insurmountable loss for the Chargers…
