Bengals have been to the playoffs 3 of the past 4 years.

Bills haven’t been to the playoffs since 1999.

The Bengals ARE contenders.

Fitz would be a great backup. In a recent John Murphy interview, he said he might have to swallow his pride and accept a backup role. I think he felt a little disrespected by the Bills and wants a fresh start. A great guy, with great character, but just not an a great NFL starter. I think he would thrive as a mentor to Dalton or anyone else. Great addition for the Bengals.

If Matt Cassel, Tim Tebow, Mark Sanchez, Any Cardinals QB, and Blaine Gabbert are still in the league, signing RF to a backup role is a great move.

After reading some of these comments. Do any of you know anything about Cincinnati that you hadn’t read from the 90s?

Fitzpatrick would be a great backup Qb. He obviously showed enough to get a new contract from the Bills. He would be welcomed back to Cincy. Sure of it!

Fitz has proven that hes not a starter in this league, so Cincinnati makes a lot of sense. Hes a back up and a good one.

He ought to put that Harvard education to good use and sign whatever they put in front of him.

There is no way any other NFL team would even look at him, he needs to take what he can get and run with it.

He did pretty well making Old Man Wilson’s wallet a little lighter, he needs to be thankful for what he can get.

Would love to have Fitz back, I think he would be an upgrade for some teams, but those teams have thier problems and it wouldn’t be a good situation to be in. Fitz is a smart guy and I think he knows he’s not an elite QB and isn’t going to get big money. Still Fitz is a great backup QB, he can come in and perform well in a pinch which is exactly what backups do. He can win a few games if Dalton were to get injured. I don’t want a QB controversy, but if Dalton struggles, Fitz might fit into this system very well. The Bills struggled and there are questions about Fitz being a starting QB, but last time he was with the Bengals he helped his career, so maybe he’ll try it again this time.

Fitzpatrick’s arm is on the weak side but it’s much stronger than Andy Dalton’s.

I think Fitzpatrick would fit in well there. Dalton, like Fitzpatrick is a very smart Quarterback. I can see him helping Dalton learn how to read the Defense and their tendencies. RF did well figuring out the opposition while in Buffalo, he just had trouble physically getting the job done, which is something Dalton excels at. I think Fitz would give Dalton that edge he needed to finish the job. It would be a great move.

After struggling for years to become a starter and make starter money I doubt Fitzpatrick will be eager to go back to being a backup making backup money.
