Cribbs visiting Cardinals

images

Five days ago, reports surfaced that a deal between the Cardinals and free-agent receiver/kick returner Josh Cribbs was close. We then reported that it wasn’t.

Now, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that it now is.

Per Cabot, Cribbs flew to Arizona on Sunday night to visit with the Cardinals, take a physical, and possibly sign a new contract.

The Browns have shown little-to-no interest in keeping Cribbs, 29, who at one point was one of the best return specialists in the game but who never blossomed into the all-around weapon many thought he would be.

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians knows Cribbs well from Arians’ time in Pittsburgh. And given the fact that Cribbs played quarterback at Kent State, he would automatically become the second-best passer on the roster.

Heck, maybe even the first.
