APThe Bengals aren’t the only team interested in quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick has met with the Titans as well as the Bengals, according to Kimberly Jones of NFL Network.
Titans backup quarterback Matt Hasselbeck has acknowledged that he’s probably going to have to take a pay cut from the $5.5 million base salary on his current deal if he is going to stick around in Tennessee as Jake Locker’s backup. The Titans expressing interest in Fitzpatrick could be an attempt to strong-arm Hasselbeck into taking the reduced salary they’re asking him to take, or Fitzpatrick could be the Titans’ backup plan in case Hasselbeck says he won’t take a revised contract.
The 30-year-old Fitzpatrick has been a starter for the last five seasons, four in Buffalo and one in Cincinnati. He’ll almost certainly be a backup to start the 2013 season.

Why haven’t the Jets or Cards given him a call? He’s better than what either team currently has.
Hasselbeck is ancient. Release him and sign a cheaper, younger backup. Fitzpatrick is a good option although he may want to wait around and find a team he has a better chance of starting for. The Cards would be one place. Even Cleveland would be a good option as well. I don’t think he could beat out Kevin Kolb, but the Jets are a good option as well. Fitzpatrick shouldn’t settle for a backup role; even though I think he is a backup.
It’s possible that Fitz could beat out Locker
Fitz could start over jake locker, man that kid is awful
Man, you guys love picking through Ralph garbage. I heard McGee is still out there.
Was it really 4 seasons in buffalo?!! I guess time flies when the bills are always irrelevant.
wow make the QB spot worse good idea….did you people see Fitz play the last 4 years?
Unless your offense revolves around 3 yd passes to RBs and the occasional over throw i would let him be
He could be a situational player. They could bring him in every time we needed to throw an interception.
As a Jaguars fan I welcome this.
Fitzpatrick is much better when he doesn’t have the weight of the whole team on his back. I bet he could step up if Locker was injured and win the Titans a few games. He is not a bad QB, just needs the right situation around him.
Apparently there ARE still teams who see Fitzpatrick as a starter.
I was wrong.
