Getty ImagesThe Colts got off to a fast start in free agency and their pace isn’t slowing all that much.
On the same day they made it official with new backup quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, the Colts announced that they have signed veteran defensive tackle Aubrayo Franklin. Franklin joins Ricky Jean Francois as defensive linemen brought into the fold this month and the team has also re-signed Fili Moala and Martin Tevaseu.
Franklin started nine games for the Chargers last season, recording 20 tackles in a role that called for him to stop the run and little else. He finished the year on injured reserve with a knee injury that isn’t thought to affect his availability for the 2013 season.
The Colts will be Franklin’s fourth team in the last four years. He played for the Saints in 2011 and ended a four-year run with the 49ers in 2010.

Well, he IS 315 pounds. Ergo, huge signing.
Garbage like Peytonsneck18
I’m a little tired and thought I just read the Colts signed the Queen of Soul.
She’s pushing 315lbs also.
@Crownofthehelmet, that’s not nice. You should show her some R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Plus, she’d probably be a DT upgrade for them as well.
Boyshole? I’m not even touchin that name, im just gona call Chris Hanson
Im a charger fan and the colts got a really good player in Franklin. GREAT run stopper
