I’m not trying to condone drunken driving or what Kenny Britt did…

But DUI arrests have become a huge money making machine for local and state governments…

In which that money, like the rest they take in forms of taxes and so forth, gets pissed away.

And the problem is never solved.

No, DUI arrests are a huge financial burden on local and state governments. They’re very technical cases to prove, the acquittal rates are high, and when convictions do come, the fines offenders pay are but a small fraction of what it costs to pay the police, prosecutors, and court staff to prosecute them.

The only people making money off of DUI cases are defence lawyers.

“Britt was given three field sobriety tests, then handcuffed and taken to Fort Campbell police station where he refused a Breathalyzer test. Britt signed on the implied consent form that he refused the breath test because he had passed the field sobriety tests.”
Field sobriety tests cant determine BAC and he refused a Breathalyzer,under most states law that makes you guilty as charged.he was afraid to take it because he stated he had three shots before driving.

Having lived through both, there is still very little about Britt that feels “Pacmanesque.”

Pacman was an angry ticking time bomb whose police reports usually involved the word “altercation”. Sometimes involving deadly weapons. His temper was explosive, and that was scary.

Britt is really not that guy. But it’s still frustrating to watch him jeopardize his career because he just can’t or won’t grow up.

So he was arrested for DUI by the police,usually they give you another test at the station to get your BAC,he must have failed both tests to end up in court on the charge.how exactly does a DUI defendant get aquitted when his BAC had to be high enough to get arrested in the first place and if it wasnt then why was he arrested for DUI.

I believe the NFL has a conduct policy that everyone agrees to. The NFL can suspend a player or fine a player for any number of things. If Britt doesn’t like it, he can quit the NFL. Britt isn’t the first player to be suspended for conduct issues and not be convicted of a crime. Money talks in this country and the richer you are, the more you get away with.

He was aquitted of the charge. Apparently there was a mistake made in the process of the arrest. He is not “Not guilty”, he just got away with it.

I’ve been bustin’ britts cahones for awhile now for his off the field conduct and was waiting for the outcome on this. Who am I to say he was guilty or not, all I know is this….this will be his last chance or he will be competing with pacman to be the guest speaker at the next rookie seminar.

Kenny Britt gets a DUI, he gets acquitted and maybe a two game suspension. Average Joe gets a DUI, he gets fired.
