Rob Turner agrees to terms with Titans

Rob Turner

The Tennessee Titans announced Tuesday they have agreed to terms with former St. Louis Rams offensive lineman Rob Turner.

Turner can play both guard and center and started all 16 games for the Rams last season.

“Turner is a guy who got his first opportunity to start last year and he played well,” Titans G.M. Ruston Webster said via the team’s official website. “He spent time as a starter at both center and guard, so we liked his versatility. He will come here to compete and will either earn a starting role or fill a role as a swing guy for the middle spots.”

Turner spent the first five seasons of his career with the New York Jets before signing in St. Louis last season. Last year with the Rams was the first chance he had to start consistently in the NFL. He’s appeared in 57 games with 18 starts over six seasons. He missed the entire 2011 with the Jets after suffering a broken leg during the preseason.
