the saints only need a half decent D cuz the O is explosive…this past season the D was THE worst in the League and couldnt get off the field, which messed up the O’s rhythm …just an average D and the Saints will be back to SB form….and hard to beat

I’ve never been a big fan of the Ryan brothers, but I trust Coach Payton. He’s only lead us to the best stretch in franchise history.

With the powerful offense they have the Saint’s only need to be adequate on defense and they will be just fine in 2013. I don’t see Ryan having any problem fulfilling that based on his past defenses.

When Ryan was at Cleveland, I thought he was the strength of the team. I think he gets the most out of his players and they will go through brick walls for him. That is what you want in a d-coord. I think he will do good in NO.

Ryan’s recent history had him with Oakland and Dallas. Are either of those teams known for a culture of winning? No, Dallas’ management is currently a madhouse hierarchy thanks to JJ who knows what’s going on in practically invisible year after year Oakland.

New Orleans offers Rob Ryan the opportunity to coach on a team with an elite QB. The Saints, despite playing without a HC and logging the worst numbers in the history of the NFL on defense, were still able to recover from an 0-4 start and finish the season knocking on the door to the play-offs.

Ryan wants to be a HC somewhere and this is his big opportunity to do or die. This job is his best chance to irradicate the notion that he is overrated.
