Not the best corner but still wouldn’t have been good to lose Captain. We are struggling at the DB position so this is needed depth.

I like the signing of DJ Moore, although both are nickels, well see what happens.

I love the Cap signing and like the Mike Mitchell signing. Maybe a change of scenery (anyhing but Oakland) is all he needs. I know he’s fast and can hit but he needs to be a better DB in general.

Funny thing about Mitchell is I remember watching the draft and Mel Kiper jr. was just absolutely at a loss for words when the Raiders took him in the 2nd round. They barely had any film on him and he wasnt even in Mel’s draft guide haha, it was so awkward. Another one year deal for someone to compete and maybe even turn into a Special teams dynamo. I wont complain.

Gettleman is doing his best to right the ship.

As far as Mitchell, I recall that the Raiders thought that the Bears might be interested in Mitchell and took him that early. Myock thought he was a late round/free agent caliber, but if you look at his Ohio U. tape he was a helluva hitter in college and look to me every bit as draftable as Taylor Mays (another Safety that has never made a big impact in the NFL).

Obviously Coach Davis thought he was getting the second coming of Jack Tatum (just like he thought he was getting the second coming of Cliff Branch with DHB) however Mitchell never developed into anything more than a core special teams player.

2009 was sure a bad draft year for the Raiders…All the picks from that class are now gone from the roster.

Good luck to Mitchell on the Panthers. Whatever else you say about the potential of Huff, DHB, and Mitchell, they are good character guys and hard workers.

Hope all three can find spots on other teams in 2013.

Lotta overpaid, overprpriced and over-the-hill CB’s on the free agent market this year. Munnerlyn was one of the few who was not -and at 24, still has plenty of upside.

Mike Mitchell was one of the worst draft picks in a decade. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY thought he deserved to be drafted. So naturally Al Davis spent a second round pick on him.

Things suddenly looking brighter in Carolina for the Panthers. I still say we have a lot of nickel backs still need that “shut down” corner maybe like a Xavier Rhodes or Jonathan Banks or Desmond Trufant. I like how Gettleman is focusing on the defensive side of the ball. With the addition of Mitchell at Safety and DJ Moore looks like they are creating more depth.I look for him to add more offense in the draft with a wideout and offensive lineman. Still need that DT Carolina. We aren’t that far away. “KEEP POUNDING”

The Cap is back! I love it. Panthers secondary isn’t going to be that bad this year, especially with Hardy and Johnson rushing the passer and Keuchly, Beason, Davis running the middle of the field.

Draft a wide receiver, d tackle, and o guard and I’m liking what new GM Gettleman is doing!
