10 years, only 4 playoff games and only one playoff win. That's why it's easy to bash Romo. Regular season stats are cute, but there's not one QB in the NFL who'd rather have an MVP award over a Super Bowl ring. The fact that the Cowboys seem to have big names all over the field just makes it worse that they can never win when it matters.

Correct sir. And as long as Jerry has blind faith in romo he won't look for a qb to take his place! I'm with you! I was a romo supporter but after last years finale it's time to move on! He's had a long time to try and get it done and for some reason he just can't. I don't know how much longer Jerry can continue to set romo up for failure before the fans get restless. It's really Jerry's fault. Not romos.

Wow datschu, in my opinion, you nailed it with your reply. I've been critical of all the Romo worship on here, but I actually feel that he is a very talented quarterback. Talented enough to win a Super Bowl with a team that has the proper supporting cast. The Cowboys don't, and won't as long as Jerry Jones continues his death grip on the Cowboys' operations. As long as Jones continues to rely on Romo's athleticism to overcome his inability to properly tend to his team's glaring needs, the Cowboys will always be one Romo mistake away from another disappointing offseason. Too much pressure on one guy to carry the load. And too much blame on one guy for a team sport. I just wish people would stop referring to "next year" with Romo and this team. Once again, due to Jerry's mismanagement of personnel, the best for this team is in the past. The Cowboys simply cannot afford to put a team around Romo that will ever be able to contend for a championship. Look at all the restructuring happening now to simply keep this team at it's mediocre level. When THOSE contracts come due, our young stars like Dez Bryant and Demarco Murray will be gone because we won't be able to pay them and everyone will still be looking to Romo to make it happen....

As a die hard boys fan... I feel that some of these critical posts are warranted and some aren't. Yes romo has a career of bad turnovers at the worst times. Yes he seems to play terribly in big games. I see it. I get it. I was a staunch romo supporter up until this last year. I CALLED what would happen in the last redskins game. It always does so how could you not know he would lose the game by committing a turnover? But at the same time his line and running game last year were the worst EVER for a cowboys team. He's never really had the support of a super star running back. He's always been running for his life. I supported romo because I REMEMBER the years after aikman and before romo. He's been clearly the best qb since aikman retired. BUT after last years loss in the final game I've really come to realize that he's not going to ever get it done. I agree that it's time to look for his replacement. Let him go elsewhere... Maybe he'll have better luck with you know... A REAL organization where the idiot owner doesn't run the team. I look at it this way... The 07 team was the best team in Dallas since 95-96 season. If he couldn't win the big game with THAT team he never will

Romo is very polarizing to Cowboy fans. Either loved or hated. While I don't hate him, I have seen enough and feel it's time to move on.

Jerry thinks that no one else can step into that role but as the GM, it's his responsibility to find the next QB. Look what Harbaugh did in S.F. Not content with Smith, he discovered Kaepernick.

Here's all you need to know about Tony Romo:

The only 3 facts that matter:

1. Makes the postseason less than 50% of the time (3 out of 7 years)

2. 1 postseason win in 7 years

3. Wins 14% of his elimination games (1-6 record)

Tony Romo = LOSER of epic proportions.

As a Giants fan, I am ECSTATIC that Romo will sign a long-term deal with the Cowgirls.

Its not accepting mediocrity, its appreciating the QB, without whom, this team would be drafting Luke Joekel. I can, without hesitation, say that Cowboys fans are not happy with 8-8. But what we do realize is this one simple fact; Tony Romo has done more for this franchise than anyone in the past 15 years. People confuse an average football team with an average QB.

For all who want to point out that Romo is 1-3 in his first 4 playoff starts; take a gander at the beloved Peyton Manning's first 4 playoff starts. You may notice a similarity. Yeah, they're both 1-3. People forget that Peyton had a quarterback rating of 58.5, with 1 TD and 2 picks, a completion percentage below 50% and putting up a goose egg against the Jets. Take a look at what Markdamack has to say. You may learn something. And please, spare me the "talent surrounding Romo" argument.

It's funny to me, how many people bash Romo and think it makes them a smart football fan. If you were a smart football fan, you'd know the truth.

He's anti-clutch? Prove it. Name me a big game *HE'S* lost and I'll show you two he's won, but get's no recognition for. The Seattle Playoff game? He kicked ass as the QB, just not as a kick holder. The Giant's playoff game? That was Patrick Crayton. The Vikes playoff game, that was the offensive line and the defense in General.

Let's not mention the Saints game he won to keep our playoff hopes alive, beating NO...in NO...when the saints were like 10-0 or something like that. Or beating SF last year, coming back in the game with fractured ribs and a punctured lung, to bring the cowboys back and win that game.

Did you watch the Ravens game this year, yeah check the 4th qtr of that game. If not for a missed kick, we beat the future Super Bowl champs that year.

I'd say, honestly...his WORST clutch performance, was this year against the skins and honestly, it didn't matter....the defense wasn't stopping the Skins at all.

If I hear one more "the NFL is glad" or "the NFC East teams are happy", I'm gonna flip!

Name one available QB that would be an upgrade over Romo to be the starter? Heck, I can name many current NFL starting QB's that wouldn't be an upgrade over Romo.

When will the hating stop?

Makes sense to keep Romo around since the draft has lean pickings for quarterbacks this season. Better off getting some blockers up on the line to protect Romo and any future young talent the 'boys may get. Garrett needs to mature his play selections for his passing game. Come up with some fresh passing schemes that aren't so predictable. One smart move they made was to dump Ryan. The guy just can't coach a defensive backfield in the pros.

Malqaab, no argument that Romo has ability. He just DOESN'T have the ability to win when it matters, the ability to lead his team and make them play better, or the ability to avoid the season ending mistake. I'm not sure how old you are, but those of us who have been around for a while have seen this guy before. His name was Danny White. Statistically speaking, was every bit as good as Staubach, but no one ever put him in the same class because he could never make the big play when it mattered. As for Romo, sorry but it doesn't matter if you go 33 for 42 for 345 yards if you also throw 4 interceptions, 1 of them in the red zone and 2 for pick 6's. Get my point yet???

Tell me who is going to step in a do any better right now? Maybe develop one of the many outstanding QBs available in the draft this year? Sign one of the many available free agent franchise quality QBs with zero cap space..? NOT! This is the best move to make right now. Romo is a good QB and has ton of heart. I loves me some Romo haters...

You know malqaab, it’s not a very informed argument to use Romo’s statistical “success” as proof of his ability as a quarterback.

Lol this is comical. First you don't put up those kind of numbers without having ability, it's idiotic to
Even suggest even suggest otherwise. Your talk about the game changing well duh, the game is constantly changing but you don't see every quarterback that comes in to the league putting up those numbers. Oh and by the way I ever said he was better than Troy or Staubach.

Fact is, during Romo's career, the NFL has changed the rules to favor the passing game in an effort to make the game more exciting. You simply can't compare players from the 70's and 80's to todays generation. Since you like stats so much, here's one that's much more credible.... Roger Staubach has 2 Super Bowl rings and Troy Aikman has 3. More rings than Romo's PLAYOFF VICTORIES (1) = a better quarterback...
