Getty ImagesThe New England Patriots announced Wednesday they have re-signed cornerback Marquice Cole and linebacker Niko Koutouvides.
Both players appeared in 14 games for the Patriots last season mostly in reserve duty.
Koutouvides recorded eight special teams tackles and one tackle on defense in the regular season and one special teams tackle in the postseason. Cole started one game for the Patriots and finished the year with 17 tackles, three passes defensed and an interception.

I always liked Niko. Plays hard. Don’t know if I’ve seen him play regular LB, or can’t remember it. He sitting behind our great LB corps, so can’t really show his stuff except in preseason. As for Cole, he’s definitely a depth CB. Like that guy earlier said, a dime cornerback.
I’d still like to hear about Vollmer and another inside pass rusher.
