The Panthers don’t have to kind of salary cap space to address their bigger problems, but they’re methodically checking off the smaller boxes.

After loading up on cheap secondary help, they added a receiver/return option by signing Ted Ginn on a one-year deal, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Panthers coach Ron Rivera was excited about Ginn, and reasonably so, since the Panthers had an odd lot of characters returning, including now-marginalized fourth-rounder Joe Adams.

But Ginn’s long-held wish to play more offense has a better chance of happening in Carolina, as they don’t have much beyond Steve Smith and Brandon LaFell. Considering Louis Murphy was viewed as a loss, any help is help.
