We desperately needed help in the return game.

Ginn is a big up grade as far as kick returner goes, good signing.

Now somehow manage to draft Rock Hill’s Corradelle Patterson!

Ginn is an awful receiver and an inconsistent return man. He also has a habit of making critical errors at critical moments. As a 49er fan I’m kind of glad to see him go.

That is an easy ?, I’m happy when he sign with the Panthers, he basically suck for my team. James can return kicks, James was ok but give him time and he will be great.

Ginn is a reliable punt returner with big play potential, as a WR I believed he was under used with the niners and the only reason I can think of was he’s not a well liked guy in the locker room. As of now the niners don’t have anybody better than Ginn returning punts. I thought Baalke would of learned his lesson on not resigning key ST players. Costanzo would of been nice to have on the touchdown return in the Superbowl and it was ugly the year before against the Giants w/out Ginn.

I believe we did not give Ginn enough credit , his speed was capable of making other players miss. I believe he was a key to our offense hate to see guys like that leave!

ginn is a very good kick and punt returner. hes not great at receiving…at least the deep ball…but he is very quick and can be used with sweeps and reverses. he was a good asset to the niners.thats a good pickup carolina. be happy.

Very simple. Look at how much money Carolina has devoted to 3 running backs. And consider the biggest name 1st day FA pickup for the Niners in the last couple of years has been David Akers. Seattle has a very young team on rookie contracts. Indy is the same but with less talent. Denver I’m not sure about, but they are obviously doing everything possible for a run right now, even if it hurts them later.

How does a team like the Panthers have zero cap space (or close), and yet teams like Seattle, SF, Indy, Denver have tons of space?

I mean seriously…? I can see BAL having to retool over cap space, but at least they won the Superbowl. If Panthers stink to begin with, just blow the team up and let everyone go like the Jets. At least it can hopefully be placed on the right road forward instead of expensive mediocrity.

Panthers4life34, if a team beat you twice in 2 attempts that means that they’re better than you. Finishing ahead of a team in your division means nothing if neither team made the playoffs and you’re bragging about beating the terrible defense of the Saints, wow it must be horrible being a Panthers fan only having pouty Cam.

I would have rather got Darius Heyward-Bey. Younger just ask fans and abilities are better. Maybe we can’t drop armanti edwards now. Still not convinced that Joe Adams and Kealoha Pilares are the answer maybe they will be cut and we can add better depth there for Cam.

Okay hold your horses.

Ted Ginn will replace Kealoha Pilares, Armanti Edwards, and Joe Adams all in one.

By that – I mean he’ll catch the 11 passes they would have collectively caught this next season but is a major upgrade on being the return man (which is the only reason those three are on the roster…i.e. not for pass catching).
