Grulks.. Grandpoopah is right, Nnamdi played bad in both years. There was no way to hide him. Teams were going after him on purpose! Game film never lies. He consistently blew coverages and wasn’t even called upon to be the shutdown guy, that was DRC’s role. He didn’t tackle well (see Giants/ Cowboys games) and seemed unsure of his ability too often for a 3x All-Pro!!!

Grulks, you sound like a very reasonable person who has never watched an Eagles game. Nnamdi played plenty of man coverage last year, and he was just as terrible at that as he was at zone. Don’t call people “uneducated” when you are making comments based on nothing but your own imagination. Play the tape! Man, zone, whatever. Nnamdi is not a good football player. Maybe he was at some point, but certainly not in the past two years. He is incredibly slow, he can’t tackle, he doesn’t like to tackle, he gets burned constantly, he regularly screws up his assignments, and he always points to his teammates every time he blows a play. He is not even nickel package material at this point. Just watch the tape. But you won’t do that, it’s much easier to just blame all Nnamdi’s woes on his defensive coordinator.

Dear all “the Eagles just misused Nnamdi” people: Watch an Eagles game or two from last season and then tell me how Nnamdi was only used in zone coverage. Otherwise, don’t tell those of us who have watched him get burned consistently in every type of coverage known to man that we don’t know what we are talking about. I pray that your favorite team signs the slowest starting CB in the NFL.

There’s a lot of players that would love to wear the Black & Gold because Sean Payton is a elite Head Coach. When a player enter New Orleans Saints Organization they have their minds maded up, because the Saints are contenders. Bryant Mckinnie may have been a McDonald eating lazy @ but there are Soul Food in Louisiana, he will be good down in New Orleans. Sean Payton don’t ride the players like other coaches but at the end of the season if you didn’t do your job you will be catching a ride out of the Big Easy.

Let me start off by saying I’m a realist not negative by any means now with that being said …. Im a huge eagles fan and i was almost as excited about signing Namdi as i was T.O …. The guys a bust, the only reason he did anything in Oak was because the other CB was either a rookie or horrible and QB never passed to Namdi’s side… If you don’t believe me look it up, no one threw his way… Smoke and mirrors … Not to mention why hasn’t anyone signed “the 2nd best CB besides revis” … Its because coaches are watching take and he looks like burnt toast 75% of the time. Wish him luck nice guy

Namdi was not misused in Philly. The guy just cant play anymore, nor does he seem to want to really put forth any effort. To knock Juan Castillo in all of this is just foolish. The man is a “football coach.” if you look at the birds defensive stats when he was in there compared to Bolwes (a supposed defensive guy) it was night and day. The only reason everyone likes to dog Castillo is bc he came over from the offense. All he needed was more seasoning. Maybe Namdi can play when he gets to another organization, but I doubt it. He probably just got old quick.

There sure are a lot of uneducated (football wise) people on this post. I dont know why people think Nnamdi is terrible/washed up/over rated. He was used improperly in zone coverage with Philly (NOT his strength), and the defense as a whole was suspect there. Is he the best DB out there? No. Is he so bad, that no team should sign him no matter what the price? Nope.

If Nnamdi goes to a good team that utilizes him in Man/cover 1, he is going to play a lot better than he did in the Philly wide 9 scheme. He makes a lot of sense at the Saints bc of ties to Ryan (shared time at Oakland).

As a Dallas fan, I have no real bias in this. Just shock that so may think Nnamdi is done/over rated/garbage, bc there is some opinion out there from professional evaluators (as opposed to arm chair GM’s like all of us, including me) that he is the best press coverage DB out there.

Believe it or not, the Saints are still in disarray

The Defense is going through a transformation, and they are thin at a few positions already. Nnamdi isn’t gonna scare anybody…

Tampa Bay has made some good moves, and Hotlanta will still be there…

And just because Payton is back doesn’t mean they are a shoe in for the playoffs.

Asomugha will be a steal for a defensive coordinator who knows how to use him. Or maybe I should just say he'll be a steal for a defensive coordinator. His decline started at exactly the time he began playing corner for an offensive line coach. What a waste of a great player.
