Andrews calls RG3 “superhuman” in his ACL recovery

Getty Images

Dr. James Andrews arguably is the best orthopedic surgeon in the country, if not the world.  (Or, perhaps more accurately, he has convinced everyone in the sports world that he is.)  But his expertise doesn’t extend from his hands to his mouth.

Andrews’ most recent gaffe comes from describing Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III as “superhuman” in his ability and motivation to recover from a torn ACL suffered in a playoff loss to the Seahawks.

In this specific situation, it’s critical that fan and media expectations be managed properly.  Calling Griffin “superhuman” will serve only to make everyone believe he’ll be ready for Week One — even if he isn’t.  Then, Griffin will either end up risking injury or appearing less than “superhuman” if he fails to be ready to go.

It’s not the first time Andrews has said something he shouldn’t when it comes to Griffin.  Last month, Andrews boasted that Griffin is “way ahead of schedule.”  And only days before Griffin’s already-injured knee imploded on the green dirt of FedEx Field, Andrews said that Griffin re-entered the December contest in which his knee was originally injured without being cleared.

So while Andrews is a great doctor, he’s not a P.R. specialist, he doesn’t play one on TV, and he didn’t stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.  Or ever.

  1. Andrews calls RG3 “superhuman” in his ACL recovery
    ______________

If bob was “superhuman” he wouldn’t have been hurt in the first place.

  2. pathetic, green dirt, just means more green paper in goofy as$ Snyder’s lady purse because he did not have to spend $10,000 to re-sod the playing field. Pathetic.

  3. Somebody is paying him to sya that. RGIII to keep his name out there in endorsementland or the Redskins in order to sell some more tickets.

  4. One could argue RG3 has superior, “superhuman”, genetics from generations of selective breeding.

Or He’s rehabbing at Andrews private facility in Florida and Andrews is advertising

  5. So many people already writing off RG3’s career on this site.

Go ahead. It’s not like he had doubters his rookie season. RGLeaf anyone?

He’ll be back, just as good, if not better.

  6. Will NEVER become a great QB with one good wheel. FraudIII was overhyped and overrated to begin with. Dr. Andrews must be pumping every PED available into the one-hit wonder .
The REAL DEAL is Mr. Russell Wilson. The best QB to come into the league since the beginning.

He will go down in history to ever play the game.

FraudIII will go down as One And Done

  7. RG3, Kap, Wilson, Newton..People better get used to these QB’s. Extinct QB’s like Brady and Manning will go extinct once they retire. It’s a new era. RG3 will return better than ever.

  8. Wilson has more Vick tendencies than RG3. hes always holding onto the ball too long and then scrambling away. Hell take his big hit soon enough

  9. is this the same doctor who let him go back out and play in the playoffs after he was injured?! I guess he had “super human” recovery to go back out there just get injured again.

  10. I don’t think I’d let Dr. Andrews remove a wart. First he pulls that whole drama about being “scared to death” about RG3 being on the field when he was the one man who could have stopped it and now he’s saying things that will pressure RG3 to get back on the field early.

I’m not a doctor, but it seems mighty soon after an ACL surgery to be talking about the rate of recovery. Especially since this is the second time he’s done it.

Derek Rose is still out from an ACL after almost a year and Dr. Andrews is virtually comparing RG3’s recovery to Adrian Peterson’s in less than two months.

  11. lemme guess…logicailvoice says “Rg3 is an actual god on earth, all the redskins are gods once they sign for this superhuman organization”

  12. Says the doctor who will forever be linked to ruining his career..

If he were Superhuman, he would’ve won at least one playoff game. Instead, he was smashed in his own house.

  13. Dr. James Andrews is commenting like this because he used a new technique on RG3 which included added stem cells. He’s just excited about the progress so far….Then again people would rather drama than facts

  14. Logicalvoice is mysteriously silent on the notion that Bobby Griff may be taking PEDs

Funny, he’s been such a loudmouth about Adrian Peterson

  15. All Dr. Andrews can speak to is the medical aspect of recovery. No one can possibly know or predict at this point how much quickness, plant, shift, or athletic capability he will regain.

  16. If Bob Griffin played for any other team he might have a chance. But….playing for the inept Washington Indians pretty much tells you it’s curtains for him and his bionic knee.

  17. It is wholly inappropriate for a physician to to discuss particular patients whether with permission or no. Wow.

  18. Dr Andrews is not, and never will be involved in personnel decisions. The team doctors, coaches and Griffen will decide when he is able to play. Andrews can say whatever he wants… he is only commenting on the progress. Any conclusions drawn from his vague updates are certainly not his fault. You are only throwing gas on the fire here.

  19. The jealousy displayed in these comments are a testament to the greatness of RG3. Every team would kill to have him and are praying that he won’t be the same player. Unfortunately for them, he’s going to come back even better.

That keyboard must have gotten extraordinarily sticky during the typing of this post!

  21. I could agree with over hyped but overrated? Yeah, I don’t think so. His play on the field was spectacular as was his behavior and leadership. For better or worse, the kid refused to quit and proved to be a pretty quick study. He learned after getting concussed that he needed to avoid getting sacked/hit so much and made adjustments. Unfortunately, a freak shot to the knee in an attempt to get down and avoid a hit put the hurt to him. Then, as previously noted, poor field conditions as well as some poor blocking lead to further injury.

Coach Shanahan and company deserve much credit for his rapid development but also deserve a lot of criticism for keeping RGIII in in a game where he was clearly not anywhere close to being 100%. While I hope Griffin is ready to go week 1, I truly hope they make absolutely sure he’s healthy and ready to go or else rum with Cousins until he is ready. Lets treat the Skins’ phenomenon much like the Nats treated Strasburg.

  22. Or, perhaps he is as good as advertised and RG does make a miraculous recovery, starting Week 1 and not missing a beat. Then, you Sir become a moron for judging the perspective of someone much more educated on the topic and an IQ double your own.

  23. He might be the greatest surgeon when it comes to sports injuries, but anyone with a brain knows his patients are all using PEDS. Just look at Peterson (tears his at end of season and comes back and wins MVP). Thats not normal for even the best athletes, smells like HGH to me. Superhuman=HGH.

  24. I’m tired of this and I’m a Redskins fan. Not the talk of his recovery, we all know he’s going to play the first game and have a good season.

I’m sick of the shock related to this whole thing, players got hurt, life goes on. Everytime he takes a hit next year people are going to be ‘explaining’ how they know more than the coach. Please quit.

2012 nfc east champs (with a cap penalty, 2 stud rookies, and one that was on his last leg, literally)

  25. “Of course he’s super human, RGIII rules all and all other QB’s wish he can have the regeneration abilities of RGIII. Superman takes 2nd to this super human QB.”

    Predicting what logicalvoices will post

  26. Logicvoice will now say the Redskins will win the superbowl this guy is a idiot just as much as ravenator wtf is going on up there in Maryland this state is the idiot state of America.

  27. You could see this coming from miles away. There is no chance that Robert won’t be on the field opening game no matter what injury he suffered. Doc will tell Shanahan what he wants to hear. His career depends on it.

  28. What? No blather from logicalvoice yet about how RG3 will be back for minicamp and it throwing to the 2nd best WR (Garcon)? He must be sleeping one off.

  29. Hey, man-where’s logicalvoice? I kinda miss him. You’d think he’d be here on a Washington story. Or maybe iknoweverything is logical in disguise. Maybe logical moved to the west coast and became an instant Seahawks fan. Same style of writing, dealing with absolutes and random use of caps. Think about it. Hmmmm.

Also, what does this mean? Anyone?

“He will go down in history to ever play the game.”

  30. Cheap ass Redskins. They’ll trade 3 1st round draft picks to get RGIII, yet they won’t shell out any money to do something about one of the worst fields in the NFL ?

Meanwhile, 50 miles to the North, the Ravens re-evaluate their turf every other year and have probably gone through 4-5 iterations of the FieldTurf product trying to get the best surface they can get.

    Bisciotti > Snyder

  32. im the biggest redskins fan out there, but my team has made a huge mistake is trading all those top picks and getting wheelchair3, every year this time we will be having to listen to story about where rg3 is with his rehab this, rehab that, i wish we couldve had that top pick and gotten a true franchise Qb in Andrew Luck, just cause rg3 looks like a horse, doesnt mean he will come back as fast as one, sorry fellow skins fans, but we are Fail!!!

  33. QB’s that scramble will last only as long as their body holds out. He could have the greatest football mind but it matters little if he gets injured as he will in the future.

  34. Dr. Andrews might be the best doctor the world has ever seen, or might be some kind of a God but i really doubt RGIII is some kind of bio-mechanical experiment that makes him be superhuman.

Please tell me that you’re not blaming RG3’s
injury on the turf at Redskins stadium. Laughable.

  36. “It is in my medical opinion (cashes Adidas check) that he’ll be ‘all in’ for week one.”

Seriously though, I think he’ll train as hard as he can and speak for himself on the matter.

  37. I’m just glad he is getting better, quicker ! Guys like this are why we are all fans, right ? Yeah, a little hype but as medical science advances it is only going to get better. In the old days little R.G. would have been “through with money” as they say. I hate to see the injuries to any player, so this is good news for the sport we love.

  38. It just doesn’t matter. Mobile QB’s get injured. The only certainty is that the Redskins need a quality back-up QB because Griffith will be in the tub for at least 1/3rd of his career.

  39. I think there must be more to the relationshop between Andrews and Bob 3. He seems a little infatuated with him and maybe wants to have Bob 3’s baby(Bob 4). They need to just get a room and shut the hell up because nobody cares. Bob 4 is one more knee injury from early retirement. Shut up clown.

  40. Logicalvoicesays must be dead, or he found a job. I can’t believe a ‘Skins story w/o a comment from him.

Not to argue the point about the field, because it was a mess, but when I lived back there I never saw grass grow in the winter. Something change?

  41. To me it sounds like the Season Ticket invoices just went out to Skins fans.

As fast as bob is the weight behind a DL will win sooner or latter its not if he gets hit and hurt its when he gets hit and hurt

With a whole season of film the DC’s will find a way to make it sooner then latter
Stay in the pocket and have a long life or run like heck and be done with fast

  42. First off Bengalsstillsuck, before you get on a football forum and start attacking people by calling them and the State of Maryland stupid you should learn how to punctuate. Your grammer is no better than a 4 year old. Most of you on here are jealous Robert Griffin III isn’t your QB. He had one of the most dynamite rookie seasons ever! Facts, not fiction. Some of you root for teams (SEA, Ari, Cin, Buf, Cle, Min, PHI, Car, Jax, Det, Atl, & Hou) who have never won a Super Bowl and may not in the next 20 years. Washington has 5 appearances w/ 3 wins and Griffin will be bringing us a 4th in the next 3-6 years! You would think Seattle and Philly were Champions they way they are hyped up, losers and that’s all they will be. We had 18 million reasons last year and 18 million reasons this year to come in dead last in our div, but we didn’t and won’t happen this year. 89% on here act like 3 year olds and have no knowledge of this game, what an awful generation of haters. #HTTR suckas…

  43. What no logicalvoice talking about how bob is some god among men? Where is the lame Alfred Morris rhetoric? Must be prepping for when every defense has figured out the college gameplan and the skins sink back to the bottom. Welcome to overpaying for concussions and blown knees.

  44. you know what…youre right. theyre stupid for wasting their time with this rg3 guy. they should bring back John Beck.

  45. I hope he’s voluntarily getting tested for HGH or there will be some who say his speedy recovery is from that.

  46. It’s amazing the amount of trolling that occurs on any article with RGIII in the title. I hardly ever post on articles outside the Redskins. You people sure do seem to care a whole lot about RGIII.

  47. Bo Jackson didn’t have stem cells or superHuman Growth Hormones, he played two sports very very well comparing your guy to Bo Jackson does Bo Jackson an extreme disservice.

  48. Alright, this whole “this guy is superhuman, look at how fast he is recovering” thing is growing old. We say it for every player now.

Can we just agree that modern sports medicine has made great improvements over the past 10 to 15 years?

  49. Its called drugs. None of these guys have superhuman healing powers like Wolverine. They pump these guys full of drugs in quantities they would never think of giving you or me because millions of dollars are at stake.

  50. OK. Let’s take a look at the ridiculously frightened comments from haters.

    2ringraven says: Mar 23, 2013 11:24 AM

Actually, Joe Flacco is the third best qb in Maryland. Behind RG3 and Cousins. Don’t believe me? Go back and watch the game again. We beat you with a bunch of rookies. Trust me, your team is nothing to write home about. And, your own fans were screaming to drop Flacco after the game and make a trade for Cousins.

We can continue, but what’s the point. RG3 proved he is a phenomenal athlete last season, and now the fans of opposing teams are coming out of the woodwork to show their fear with dumb comments on any story about him.

  51. Seahawk fans are hilarious.

RG3 on one leg had the Redskins beating them 14-13 and then you lost in the second round as you would have in the first round.

But go ahead and keep thinking you dominated everyone.

You are the fanbase afterall that thinks Golden Tate really caught that ball against the Packers.

  52. Too bad the field won’t get any better. Danny boy needs to keep the concerts and college games to make enough to finish paying off Fat Albrrt!

  53. yea thats what happens when you take HGH!!
out of all the torn acls ever in nfl history i doubt RG3 is working harder than ALL of those guys or doing much different things.. im sure hgh is an issue

  54. Can you say Culpepper II, great until his leg was turned to hamburger, now he’s bankrupt. I remember training camp with him and Moss both showing off their Ferrari’s. Hopefully RGIII is smarter than that. I hope we don’t refer to him as that guy who should have won the ROY award, but then got hurt…boy he would have been good.

Uhhhhh…RGIII didn’t win the ROY? Haha, you are a true football fan sir.

  56. skinfangray

Flacco is the 3rd best QB in MD? Apparently you jumped the gun on the weed legalization here in MD and got yourself a bag of the skunkiest green out there and are extremely stoned right now.

Thats the only way to explain your delusions. Its either that or you are just the dumbest fan in the world. We are used to this from Skins fans every offseason. Running there mouth over nothing. Just like when you got Haynesworth and you were going to the Super Bowl because you signed a D linemen. Yea that worked out.

  57. child please!!!IRG3 will be hurt every year, count on it, if he was a pure Qb as these clown skins fans keep yelling, then why isnt he in a regular offense like peyton or brady? instead of the phoney read option gimmick offense then? riddle me that batman?

  58. No comment from logicalvoicesinhishead. It’s the weekend. Dad’s turn to have him. They are at Chuck E Cheese. He will comment later.

  59. I’m sure logicalvoice says now the Redskins will win the next 8 Super Bowls. I can’t believe how illogical his voice actually is. I have a hard time talking about the past greatness of the Cowboys because of recent times, no Romo isn’t the problem, and they’ve won 3 SUPER BOWLS SINCE THE REDSKINS WON THEIR LAST ONE!! By the way, I won’t believe RG3 is healthy until I see it on the field. The way his leg crumbled in that playoff game really made me feel bad for the kid. He shouldn’t have been on the field.

  60. Unfortunately for the Redskins and their fans, even if he does make it back to being close to what he was prior injury, it will take alot more than one “superhuman” to get them a Lombardi. I do hope he makes it back though, he is fun to watch play!

  61. It’s funny to read these and discover how many grown men really hate that kid. It’s sickening to know that there are people out there that find pleasure in knowing someone is legitimately injured. And for those of you blaming this injure on shannahan, take this into consideration. Robert was injured on a designed pass, turned scramble. Against Atlanta where he was hit and receive a concussion? A designed pass turned scramble. Like any other young and inexperienced players Robert has things he has to learn to preserve himself, there’s no doubt about that. But to blame that knee injury on shannahan is blasphemy. Because let’s be honest, his acl was torn well before Seattle. I’ve played on a partial before, it is possible indeed. And yes I played qb. Was it shannahan a fault that he further injured it? Sure it was, but the initial injury was not. You can call Robert what you want, say what you may, but you will never be able to take away the fact the he was the single most electrifying player everyone Sunday in 2012. I think that’s why people are such doubters. Everyone is afraid of greatness if it isn’t a player on their favorite team. Peyton manning was hated outside of Indiana until he proved without a doubt that he was the best at his position in the world. Lebron James is hated now, and he is undoubtedly the best basketball player in the world. But don’t misconstrue my statement, rg3 is not great, yet. But I think the possibility is there and people just can’t stand it. The young man is a class act, let’s give him some type of respect, show some decency.

As far as you Seattle fans, and Russell Wilson. It’s funny how pre draft all you guys were all in on Matt Flynn. And how you guys worship the ground Carroll walks on even though he inherited one of the better rosters in the nfl. Anybody know Pete Carroll’s overall win/loss as a head coach? Lls he’ll never touch shannys accomplishments. He’s a gimmick college coach with a great nfl roster. Seattle has a boatload of talent, I’m not denying that. But what have you done with that talent? Beat my so called “seller dwelling ” redskins in a game that a one legged qb had you beat? Wow big accomplishment. Seems to me like rg3 isn’t the only one and done around here. Tell Carroll have fun with our offense and hopefully you guys are half as good as you say you are next year.

  62. No comment from logicalvoicesinhishead. It’s the weekend. Dad’s turn to have him. They are at Chuck E Cheese. He will comment later.

    now thats hillarious!!!!

  63. Geez. In the dictionary, “superhuman” can simply mean “beyond normal human capability.” Well, that is RGIII, and a lot of other great athletes. Since the guy is working on rehab and conditioning for 6 – 8 hours a day currently, he qualifies on dedication alone.

  64. Wow talk about the media taking a non story and trying to blow it up. He was complementing the guys drive to recover. In no way is that a negative.

  65. When any player in the NFL is injured, it’s very important for him to consult either Mr. Florio or a PR specialist, before playing again.

  66. “Beat my so called “seller dwelling ” redskins”…

Typical intelligence level of a skins fan. instead of spending so much time on the nfl, why don’t you go back to school and get your GED…

  67. Well, it is indeed raining where I live, and it was hitting my leg in the process, so I guess Dr. Andrews can get away with what you guys know I am referring to here.

    This time.

  68. Not sure what the news may be……RGIII is “superhuman” working hard at rehab. Expected….. The same can be said, and has been said, about other hard working players doing rehab. Its that time of year.

At least LogicalVoice will be happy…….he got a report on the RedSkins…..

  69. Interesting how the lemming idiots on here cry “hate” (I.E Rascism?) when anyone is critical of Bob griffin or Newton etc. Meanwhile they rip into Romo, the Mannings, Brady, Bree’s ….you know the QB’s that actually can read defenses and don’t have to play a simplified college offense.

  70. Bob Three Sticks isn’t superhuman, but I think Dr. Andrews might be. He must be a wizard. A very wealthy wizard.

  71. NFC east was garbage last year. Only reason the skins slipped into the playoffs. After watching him through out the year I saw a pathetically simple offense predicated on his legs. Nothing special about his arm and decision making and he’s just as fragile as Vick, much slower than Vick was at that age as well and Vick has never tore a ligament. Sorry but the future for this lizard tongue freak is not looking bright.

  72. As an eagles fan I must say, griffin is nice to watch but that’s 3 ligaments in one knee over 2-3 years?? He better be super human as the drunk doctor says, otherwise the skins rolled the dice snake eyes.

  73. As with everything in today’s age things are better than they were 5-10 years ago, that includes the medical world, surgery and treatment of injury have undergone massive upgrades as technology and everything else has. Just because an athlete comes back faster now has nothing to do with PED’s, but as is the case with the uninformed its easier to point fingers than do some research. The same way the medical world did it…research.

  74. Some of you haters foaming at the mouth about this article, evidently didn’t understand it.
It said,”Andrews calls RG3 “superhuman” in his ACL recovery”
He didn’t call him superhuman,he called his recovery superhuman. Some people recover better than others,RG3 might be one of those people.

  75. If he’s healthy 100% then i dont see what the issue is..matter fact, i dont see whats the problem with andrews saying what he said… yall act like its impossible that what he’s saying is actually true. when your profession includes actually rehabbing RG3, then you can feel some way about the andrews comment. but since andrews is the one at duty, he can say what he want regardless of what perception may seem to be. #STOPHATING

  76. LMAO SIMPLE OFFENSE?? IF YOU KNEW FOOTBALL YOU’D KNOW THAT IT REQUIRES READING A DEFENSE TO EXECUTE. RG3 CAN DO EVERYTHING YOUR QB CAN DO AND MORE… #DntBelieveMeJustWatch !

Aye Seattle, Cant wait to see yall in the playoffs this year.. this year yall will get a healthy Rg3 with a healthy pass rush.. Lets see what’s what then…

  77. Looks like a lot of jealous football fans out today, I’m sure glad he is a redskin. rookie year he wins the NFC east, rookie of the year, team was 6 & 10 previous season… I laugh at all the haters. HTTR

  78. Every time something positive is said about RG3, a virtual troll army comes out of the woodwork to slam his future prospects and declare him as a one hit wonder. So, to those folks, I’ll remind you that even if RG3 were in a wheelchair, he could still pick you completely apart. And if you are a fan of one of those franchises which has never in its existence won a championship (yes, Seattle, we’re talking about you), you might want to show a little respect before you run your mouth.

  79. Mommy must have took logicalvoice’s computer privileges away since we haven’t seen his dumb a$$ make a comment on this topic.

Top 5 QB’s- Rodgers, Brady, P. Manning, Ryan, Flacco in that order.

Notice how I am a Viking fan and put Rodgers first where he belongs? That’s called being honest and not spewing crap like the dumb a$$ logicalvoice.

“why do you all hate him so much?”

    ………………………………………………………………………………

We don’t hate him, we hate seeing stupid stories about him and his defective knee constantly. Unless you’re a Skins homer, everybody else is sick of seeing his ugly mug all over the place. Too much hype for a guy that’ll be out of the league in 3 yrs..

  85. At the rate that RGIII is going, tearing up the cartilage in his knee (once its gone, it’s GONE), forget QB-ing an NFL team, he’d better start making plans to ride a wheelchair for the rest of his life. He should never have been in that wild card game, and should have been yanked at halftime for sure. I don’t say that as a Seahawks fan, but as a guy that suffers big time, with leg pain every day. I abused them early on and now they’re paying me back.

If I could I would spare RGIII from a similar future.

  86. This smells like Ray Ray and “Deer Antler Spray”. First, it would be nice if the media would Google IGF-1 and learn that the spray does nothing. When used by athletes and bodybuilders it is a sub-Q injection. IGF-1 is a fragile peptide that will not last as a spray. IGF-1 provides very similar results to HGH it that it regenerates and grows new muscle but in a very short time period…to get full results of HGH you need to be on for a year…IGF-1 you only need to take it as a 4 wk cycle to start seeing results. Take Ray Ray for example his injury normally has a recovery time of 1 year…but the following week it was announced that he would be back in 12 weeks??? So doing simple math he did 4 wks on 4 wks off 4 wks on (which is a recommended cycle).

    Just something to think about…

  87. @thebonus44

Biscotti doesn’t own M&T, the State of MD does. Snyder owns FedEx. So yes Snyder deserves any blame for the field being piss poor at FedEx, but please don’t give credit to the Crows owner for a stadium he doesn’t own.

  88. The kid is young. And isn’t he also a track and field athlete? The better you take care of your body, the easier it is to bounce back.

Wishing him all the best in his comeback. Not a fan of the Skins, but the NFL is more exciting with this cat healthy.

  89. RGIII is a superior athlete. But, let’s face it. Medicine has advanced in recent years. 15 years ago, a torn ACL was career threatening. Now, he’ll probably be back, better than ever within 8 months.

child please!!!IRG3 will be hurt every year, count on it, if he was a pure Qb as these clown skins fans keep yelling, then why isnt he in a regular offense like peyton or brady? instead of the phoney read option gimmick offense then? riddle me that batman?

Hahaha Comic Book mentality shows through! Ummm because Brady and Manning or Luck can’t RUN it Riddler. LMFAO. I would LOVE to see Tom Terrific run the read. He would get KILLED trying to come around the end. Until they can stop it we will run it. As far as your boy Luck, who is talented gotta give credit where it’s due. But Luck vs RGIII after year 1. RGIII 1 Luck 0. EVERY stat bears it out as fact. I know you WANT RGIII in a wheelchair so your kid gets some pub. Tough Luck! ALL IN FOR WEEK 1

  91. Man, I feel like I’m on the show Gold Rush when I read the comments in Redskin articles. I have to sift through the dirt and crud in the comments section to find a quality post.

To those using the same talking point of “they are just trying to sell tickets blah blah”, the Redskins have never had a problem selling tickets, even back when we had Danny Wuerffel and Patrick Ramsey.

For me personally, if RG3 is ready for week 1, then great. If not, I’m comfortable with Cousins starting because he showed a lot when he had the chance. I’m sure the trolls hating here were also hating on the Skins when they drafted Cousins.

Face it haters, as decades pass and new eras begin, teams change. Did you honestly think that a team like the Redskins, one of the most historical franchises in the league, were going to be bad forever? All teams go through cycles. The Steelers were dominant in the 70s, but they were very mediocre during the 80s. They finally got to the SB in the mid 90s and lost. They didn’t win another SB until the mid 2000s. Don’t forget about the Patriots, they used to be the joke of the league back in the day.

  92. I’m happy for the young man but there are no “old” scrambling QBs and the death of the pocket passer is much exaggerated. He won’t play as long or be as successful as Brady or Manning…but Andrew Luck might.

  93. RG3 could be a great QB if Shanahan doesn’t get him killed first. Redskin fans just stop with the nonsense of being the best in MD. Yep, Skins beat the Ravens ( 1st time in how many years???) but the last time I checked Flacco was SB MVP this year, not Cousins or RG3. Now quit smokin your Marion Barry crack pipes.

  94. Obviously the writer didn’t stay at a holiday inn express either, the acl tear was way before the playoff game.

  95. Superhuman? Superhuman until what, the first time he has to run and gets sacked and laid on? The kid didn’t play a full season and was tore to pieces already. No way he has a long lasting career.

  96. Funny how you idiots claim to be so sick of hearing about RG3 and that’s why you hate on him. You trolls have been making ignorant comments since before he was drafted! Yet you wonder why there are so many stories on him? It’s because every last one makes it to the “most commented” list, mostly due to jealous trolls who are so obsessed with logicalvoicesays that they come out the woodwork in droves to try to one-up his nonsense with drivel from the polar opposite perspective. Keep hating, fools! This man may make a lot of commercials, (again, you’re jealous) but he does his talking on the field. And no one has a logical argument against what his play says. He’s the future of the NFL, plain and simple. Have fun playing catch-up for the next decade! BTW for the many trolls that struggle with basic arithmetic: we traded TWO 1st-rounders and one 2nd. Swapping the 6th pick for the 2nd does not count as a third 1st-rounder lost. That should be obvious, but that’s never stopped you schmucks before. Oh yeah, one more thing…HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!

  97. “we hate seeing stupid stories about him and his defective knee constantly.”

Then stop clicking on them and commenting..DUH!

  98. RGIII shut the haters up w his performance this season. And he’ll shut the haters up about his knee rehabitation. Andrews is a great dr and if he sais he is super human I believe it. Look at AP and RGIII is as much as a athletic freak/ hard worker as him

  100. How about all of us out there not worry about how he is going to be this year until the games begin. The smart money would be on him returning to form and improving on his OROTY to MVP. I can’t wait to see him holding that Lombardi in Mara/Johnson’s stadium. Hate on haters.

    HTTR!!!!!

  101. Anyone mentioning the ravens winning the super bowl as the better team in MD doesn’t watch football. The ravens making the playoffs alone was as flukey as the seahawks making it. The field goal against the pats wasn’t good, the 4th and 29 was short, there was pass interference on the defense and the offense in the Denver playoff game. The ravens should have never been in the playoffs nor gotten past the broncos. Slow your bravado ravens fans, and get ready for a decade of mediocrity.

Folks, I have a life. One words sums it up – Superhuman.

    Good day.

    —————————————————-

You have a life? Usually the first one to post on every story, constantly talk sh!t about the Skins and RG3 being the best, talk about your RB being better then the best RB in the league Adrian Peterson (when he rushes for more than 2097 yards in a season, is ROY(not happening) most rushing yards in a single game (296) and wins the league MVP) then come talk to me.

Top 5 annoying posters on this site Logicalvoice, Logicalvoice, Logicalvoice, Logicalvoice, and Logicalvoice, IN THAT ORDER.

  103. So RGIII has great motivation, almost superhuman like, and Florio has to base it down. The more I read PFT, the more I compare it to a tabliod magazine. You guys take a little peice from an entire article, and trim it down to one sentence to make it seem like it was something else. Or, you take a tweet, and base it down to make it seem like something it isn’t.
I hope RGIII has almost superhuman motivation, if not, he probably wouldn’t have won the Heisman or been selected 2nd in the draft.

  104. Snyder is going injure more of his multi-millionaire employees if he doesn’t do something about that goat track.

Painting it green does not count.

  105. Some people recover faster than others. I healed from a jaw broken in two places in 5 weeks even though it was supposed to take 8. Not everyone is the same. John Elway doesn’t even have an ACL in one leg. He lost his in college and he’s a HOFer. I wouldn’t be surprised if he heals on time considering I don’t believe the ACL was a tear anyway. I believe they were just fixing the crappy job done in college.

  106. We wouldn’t even be in this discussion if it wasn’t for Shanahan. He is a fool for letting his QB stay out there with a bad knee in that game. You don’ t risk the future, period. I’m sure he has been talked to about this.

  107. He might be able to play 90-95% in 2014. People still heal at the same rate. Even if roids are used, its not the same. He’s got more than just an ACL sprain in there. Of course they’re going to say what they are after pumping that much cash into him.
