Bears bring back Jonathan Scott

Carolina Panthers v Chicago Bears AP

The Bears made improving their offensive line an offseason priority, but they’ve brought one of the incumbents back

The team announced they had brought back free agent tackle Jonathan Scott with a one-year deal.

Scott started seven games for the Bears last year. He’s bounced through stints with the Lions, Bills and Steelers as well, and figures to be a backup option.

The Bears found their left tackle on the first day of free agency by signing Jermon Bushrod, and it’s hard to imagine that being the only upgrade this offseason.

Solid depth move, Scott played well in his 7 starts and didnt give up a sack. Not a bad back up option. Now to bring back Lance Louis and draft a Center in the middle rounds!

Scott was very serviceable in the 7 games he played. Whether or not he’s a starter, to me, is irrelevant. He brings value to the o-line and is an upgrade.

all I can remember is him getting bulldozed in every game he played with the steelers. the steeler fans know just how awful this guy is. we all kept screaming at the tv every play he was in. maybe worst offensive lineman ive ever seen!!!

People seem to think he played well for the Bears last year because he didn’t give up a lot of sacks. PFF graded him out as one of the worst tackles to play last year. “He was dreadful”. I wish this story would have been about a Lance Louis signing instead.

Lets sign all the freakin linemen we can!!!! We’re bounds to find a good 5 some way!! We got 1 so far!! But hey lets sign all the linebackers we can too, to mask the fact we could’ve just signed 1!!! And drafted another, but oh well..should be an interesting season. Lol

The Bears need more turnstiles like Jonathan Scott.
