The Cardinals have been as active as anyone in free agency and they signed their 10th player away from another team on Wednesday.

Safety Jonathon Amaya is the latest player to cast his lot with Bruce Arians and company. Darren Urban of the team’s website announced that Amaya agreed to a one-year deal with the team today.

Amaya spent the 2012 season with the Dolphins and made eight tackles in 12 games with the team, with most of his time coming on special teams. He didn’t make many headlines on the field, but was the subject of some off of it when he was arrested for battery after an incident with a taxi driver in November. The charges were dropped a month later and Amaya’s season continued on without interruption.

Amaya spent the 2011 season with the Saints, but was with the Dolphins in 2010 when Todd Bowles was the team’s defensive coordinator. Bowles is now running the defense in Arizona, which may have helped sway another free agent to sign up for life with the Cardinals in 2013.
