It’s wide receiver week in Tennessee.
Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com reports that the Titans are having Chaz Schilens in for a visit on Wednesday. He’s the third veteran free agent wide receiver to spend time with the team this week, joining Brandon Stokley and Kevin Walter as prospective additions to the Titans offense.
Schilens spent the 2012 season with the Jets, catching 28 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns in 15 games. Schilens joined the Jets as a free agent after spending the first four years of his career with the Raiders. There have been flashes of ability here and there, but Schilens has spent a lot of time injured and he’s never been able to turn those flashes into anything consistent.
None of the three receivers would make a huge difference for the Titans, who are fairly well set at the top of their depth chart at the position. Any of them would be a solid depth addition, as would a few other players on the market so we’ll see if the Titans keep on shopping.
