Pat White working out for the 49ers today

Apparently, the call came in.

Former Dolphins quarterback Pat White took another step in his comeback attempt, working out for the 49ers today at their complex, according to

White said earlier this week he was expecting a call from 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh after his recent workout at West Virginia’s pro day.

While there’s no word on how the workout went, the numbers indicate an opportunity. The 49ers only have two quarterbacks on the roster at the moment — starter Colin Kaepernick and Scott Tolzien.

White hasn’t played since the Dolphins released him in the 2010 preseason, though he’s been working with quarterback guru George Whitfield in recent months.

While it’s reasonable to suggest White was ahead of his time, now that smaller, run-around quarterbacks are getting opportunities, he was never consistent enough throwing the ball to make himself useful the first time through.

I can’t wait for Harbaugh to bench Kaepernick in the middle of the season and start White it would be hillarious.

Pretty sure based on the way he is holding the ball, he is looking the wrong way.

    To jcmeyer10:

White is left handed and clearly running to his right in the photo, which means he is holding the ball correctly. If you are left handed, you don’t roll out to your right backwards, you run to the right and continue to hold the ball with your left hand. If you are right handed, just think about rolling out to your left and throwing on the run. This is where you begin to feel dumb for your comment.

Your back up should be able to run the same offense as your starter. Additionally when i heard the dolphins call his name on draft day i threw up in my mouth.

You have to give the guy props for never giving up his dream and working hard to try to get back.

Pat White has the physical skills. He was playing for a team that was forcing his round peg offense into a square hole.

I would love it if he had success on the SF system.
