The Seattle Seahawks have added yet another free agent to bolster their defensive line.
Former Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Tony McDaniel has agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Seahawks a league source told PFT. He joins defensive ends Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett as defensive linemen added to Seattle’s roster this offseason.
McDaniel’s addition could very well end any chances of Alan Branch returning to Seattle. Branch had spent the last two seasons in Seattle playing next to Brandon Mebane on the interior of the Seahawks defensive line. McDaniel could very well replace Branch in that role for the Seahawks next season.
McDaniel has been largely a rotational player for the Dolphins as he has only started two games over the last four seasons. McDaniel’s best season with Miami came in 2010 when he recorded 36 tackles, 2.5 sacks and four passes defensed.
