Ziggy Ansah to visit Eagles

Ezekiel Ansah AP

Brigham Young defensive end Ziggy Ansah will take a pre-draft visit to the Eagles, USA Today‘s Lindsay Jones reported Thursday.

The Eagles hold the N0. 4 overall pick in April’s draft. Ansah figures a defensive end in a 4-3 front and an outside linebacker in 3-4 scheme; the Eagles are reportedly expected to employ 3-4 looks this season.

USA Today also reported that there was some speculation at BYU’s Pro Day Thursday that Ansah might be older than his listed 23 years old. However, USA Today reported that the birth date on his Ghana-issued passport, viewed by the publication, is May 29, 1989.

Ansah will be attending the NFL Draft, a positive sign regarding his stock with teams.

If he goes to the eagles, he’ll be on the dline not playing linebacker. Their dline coach worked him out recently.

I’ve watched Ziggy on video and in the senior bowl and this cat can make plays. A little raw but he basically has no ceiling with unlimited potential. Great speed and displays good instincts too.

Better suited to play DE in a 4-3 defense but could probably learn OLB in a 3-4 defense.

But, was there a birth certificate? By the time he applied for a passport, he and his advisor had already spoken about the possibility of playing for a scholarship or professional sports in America. Obviously, either of those possibilities would be enhanced by lopping a couple of years off his age.

Turns out that it was his brother Methusala Ansah who was thought to be older than claimed.

Even though the Lions need a d-end, you can’t pass up Eric Fisher if he’s there at 5.

I can’t imagine what The Eagles are thinking. He is reportedly not very strong.
