Amendola says multiple teams made him better offers than Rams

Amendola

Having left the Rams for the Patriots in free agency, Danny Amendola says leaving St. Louis was made easy by the Rams, who didn’t offer him anything close to the kind of contracts that other teams were willing to give him.

In fact, Amendola says the five-year, $31 million deal he signed with the Patriots was one of several offers he got that was better than what the Rams were offering.

“I had three or four head-and-shoulders opportunities that were far outweighing what the Rams had offered, but I understand that it’s a business,” Amendola said on ESPN 101 in St. Louis, via SportsRadioInterviews.com. “I understand that they have numbers, they value me as they will. And it turned out that other teams valued me a little higher and so that’s the way it goes.”

Amendola said he has talked to Tom Brady and is making plans to run pass patterns with him, and that he’s excited to play for a Patriots team that has big plans for him.

And a Patriots team that will pay him a whole lot more than the Rams would have paid him.
