Cedrick Wilson seeks diversion in alleged test scheme

AP

Former NFL wide receiver Cedrick Wilson was in federal court in Memphis Friday seeking diversion in a case where he is alleged to have conspired to have someone else take a teaching certification exam for him, the Associated Press reported Friday.

Wilson was indicted in October on four counts related to the alleged scheme, which stems from a pair of tests he needed to pass to become certified to teach in the Memphis City Schools system.  The allegations cover a period in 2009 and 2010.

On Friday, Wilson’s case was continued to May 31, as the prosecution requested more time to prepare.

Wilson played for the 49ers (2001-04) and Steelers (2005-07) in his NFL career.
