Devin McCourty has shoulder surgery

During the 2012 season, Patriots cornerback Devin McCourty became Patriots safety Devin McCourty.  He’ll remain at safety in 2013, and he’ll have a healthier arm.

McCourty has undergone “minor” surgery on his right shoulder, according to Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe.  He’ll spend the balance of the offseason rehabbing, and he’ll be ready for training camp.

It’s unclear whether he suffered an injury during the offseason, or whether he’s merely getting a lingering condition from last season cleaned up.

A first-round pick in 2010, McCourty was switched from cornerback last year, returning to the position only after Aqib Talib suffered an injury late in the regular season.

The Pats have re-signed cornerbacks Kyle Arrington and Aqib Talib, and they have added former Cardinals safety Adrian Wilson.

DMac never complains or makes excuses so it’s wouldn’t be that surprising if he was dealing with it all year.
I can’t wait to see him with Wilson next to him at safety. He’s already a good young player, Wilson can help him be better.

Just can’t remember anyone like this, great/good corner rookie Sophmore slump/terrible and now found a home at free safety. Bill Belicheck is a great coach, and loved his football life story, ok back to Bengaldom for me.

Cap’n McCourty had a minor procedure to replace the hook on his left arm.

It would take major surgery to remove that hat.

Hope he plays better at safety. McCourty is not an NFL cornerback. He repeatedly got burned.

    Sweet hat, bro.
