Daryl Smith will visit the Rams

Daryl Smith was always viewed as a durable and dependable player for the Jaguars, before playing just two games last year because of a persistent groin injury.

But while the Jags haven’t made a move to retain one of their longest-serving players, others seem willing to give him a chance.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the free agent linebacker is visiting the Rams today.

Smith was a second-round pick of the Jags in 2004, and missed just four games in his first eight seasons. The 31-year-old linebacker should still be able to help a team if he’s well, as he’s always played at a consistent level.

Makes you wonder what the guy has left when his former DC goes to Chicago, they need LB, and pick other guys.

One of the most underrated players in the nfl. Would have been to multiple pro bowls had he played in a larger market. I was hoping the Jags would resign him.

What do you mean the Jaguars haven’t made a move to retain him? What makes you think they didn’t spend time before free agency opened to negotiate?

Would love for the Ram’s to give him a shot. If he plays as good as Jo-Lonn Dunbar did last year this would be another excellent under the radar signing.

Would he be starting in St. Louis? I doubt it. Would he be add depth to a position with none if one of our starters were to go down? Absolutely. Would be a great signing by the Rams.
