Luke McCown has signed a one-year deal with the Saints, according to his agent, Mike McCartney.
The Saints only had one quarterback on the roster (some guy named Drew Brees) after backup Chase Daniel left for Kansas City,
McCown was with the Saints in training camp, but spent the regular season with the Falcons last year. He hasn’t thrown a pass in the NFL since starting a pair of games for the Jaguars in 2011.
His brother Josh McCown signed with the Bears Friday, making it a good weekend for the first family of backup quarterbacks.
