Free-agent linebacker Bryan Thomas likely will remain a free agent for a bit longer. Or perhaps indefinitely.
Thomas, who entered a pre-trial diversion program in February to resolve pending domestic violence and drug charges, was back in court after another incident that occurred in March.
According to Ben Horowitz of the Newark Star-Ledger, Thomas moved out of the family home after an alleged assault of his wife in mid-March. On Tuesday, Judge Thomas Critchley granted the long-time Jets linebacker unsupervised visitation with his three sons, which reportedly prompted from his wife a “loud outburst afterward in a courthouse hallway [that] could be heard up a flight of stairs.”
Thomas eventually could be found to have violated the terms of the pre-trial diversion program, which could result in incarceration for Thomas.
