In addition to a group of players which have been previously reported, the Buccaneers added a player who was once a terror in Tampa Bay.

Former Jaguars defensive end George Selvie was the latest to join the Bucs’ late-free agency haul (along with kicker Nate Kaeding, defensive tackle Derek Landri, running back Brian Leonard and wide receiver Steve Smith).

Selvie was a two-time All-American at the University of South Florida, where he finished with 29 sacks and nine forced fumbles along with 69.5 tackles for loss while playing his home games in Raymond James Stadium.

He notched 14.5 of those sacks in 2007, but never matched that kind of production in college or the pros.

In 2009, he teamed with a little-known (at the time) juco transfer named Jason Pierre-Paul, who had 6.5 sacks that season to Selvie’s 3.5 for the Bulls.

Pierre-Paul would go onto become a first-rounder and a success with the Giants, while Selvie was drafted in the seventh round by the Rams, and also spent time with the Panthers and Jags before signing with the Bucs.
