Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Clinton McDonald is the second of three restricted free agents to sign their tenders to return to the team for next season.
Long snapper Clint Gresham signed his tender last month. Safety Chris Maragos remains as the only Seahawks restricted free agent yet to sign his tender.
Restricted free agents that have been tendered have until April 19 to solicit offers from other teams. If they sign an offer sheet with another team, their current team has the ability to match the offer or, depending on the level of tender their were given, receive compensation in return for not matching the offer.
McDonald had been given an original round tender by the Seahawks, meaning they would get a seventh-round draft pick in return if McDonald was signed to an offer sheet the team refused to match. He will make $1.323 million with the team next season.
McDonald served as a rotational player for Seattle the last two seasons. He recorded 25 tackles last season for the Seahawks.
