Pat White doesn’t visit Giants, after all

In the end, the Pat White era in New York was pretty short.

After multiple reports indicated White would work out with the Giants on Tuesday, one week after working out for the 49ers, multiple reports now indicate that he won’t.

Per Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News, White’s plans have changed.

Unless those plans include signing a contract with a team that has strongly indicated he’ll have a good shot at making it to the 53-man roster, White’s decision not to show the Giants what he can do makes no sense.  At a time when he’s supposedly desperate to get back into the NFL, White needs to do anything and everything he can to demonstrate his commitment and interest.

Otherwise, teams on the fence about giving him an opportunity will opt not to bother.

I’m a Florio fan and PFT is like my bible, but Mike this guy must be your favorite player with all these articles about him! I’ve never seen a bigger fan of a particular player!

its not like they would take Eli off the field in favor of him.

Don’t tell me that the ’49ers grabbed him already!!!

I don’t call out reporting often but this time I must. According to Vacchiano, White has drawn interest from 10 teams. If this is correct, it makes NO sense for White to visit Giants who have no plans to play him except on their scout team. Without this info, you make it sound like White is uncommitted when, in fact, he just might be pursuing better options.

Pat “Don’t Have The Will To Fight” Whte is not on the same level as Russell “The Robot” Wison.

Patricia White, the age of the 12th man will end your career.

Was little Pat White going to be a Gatorade boy or something?

    He’s not visiting? Thank you.

  9. draftbreakdown says: Apr 2, 2013 3:02 PM

Maybe Pat decided that he isn’t going to do any WR drills because he believes he’s a high quality NFL QB? Oh, wait. That’s what he did at his pro day a few years ago after telling everyone at the Senior Bowl he would catch passes back in Morgantown. Woops. My mistake!

Or maybe he just decided to play baseball again?

    He’s signing with the Redskins.

  15. whatnojets says: Apr 2, 2013 3:25 PM

Redskins intend to sign him pending a physical and the usual check ups.

Remember when he was drafted and all the pundits said he was going to revolutionize the wildcat and the Dolphins were going to upend the Patriots in the division? The Pats responded with a bit of wildcat insurance of their own by drafting Julian Edelman in the 7th round! While he does not play QB for the Pats, he could be an emergency QB. He also plays DB and returns punts and kicks like Troy Brown did. I’d say the Pats got the better value there.

Read option has already given this guy too much publicity.

    Future Geno Smith.

  20. justintuckrule says: Apr 2, 2013 3:49 PM

Can’t wait until read-option goes the way of the dodo

  21. skinswillsurprise says: Apr 2, 2013 3:58 PM

All you “smart” people saying you can’t wait for the read option to go away should stop. It is not going anywhere! All it is, is a play action closer to the center. I guess the roll out should go away also? How about the deep pass? What about running the ball? Learn and watch the offense before you jump on what the “experts” are saying. HTTR!!
