John Skelton must have made quite an impression on the Bengals by leading the Cardinals to 16 unanswered fourth-quarter points on Christmas Eve, 2011.

Of course, the Bengals still won that game 23-16, so maybe they just thought he was better than the guys on hand.

The Bengals claimed the former Cardinals quarterback off waivers Wednesday, according to Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Skelton has 15 touchdowns and 25 interceptions in 17 career starts, but was the second quarterback thrown overboard by new Cardinals coach Bruce Arians (following Kevin Kolb).

Oddly enough, Skelton has a chance to hang around with the Bengals. After losing free agent backup Bruce Gradkowski to the Steelers, the Bengals responded by signing Josh Johnson, and the only other backup on the roster is Zac Robinson.
