The Cardinals took a break from bolstering their defensive backfield with the trade for quarterback Carson Palmer, but they’re back at it now that Palmer’s in the fold.
Darren Urban of the team’s website reports that the Cardinals have signed safety Curtis Taylor and cornerback Bryan McCann. They are the fifth and sixth defensive backs signed from other teams by the Cardinals since free agency opened last month and the team has also re-signed safety Rashad Johnson.
McCann played eight games for the Dolphins last season after signing with the team in November. He was cut by the Raiders at the end of camp after spending part of 2011 with them. He also played for the Ravens and Cowboys in 2011 and he returned an interception and a punt for touchdowns in consecutive weeks during the 2010 season for Dallas. Taylor hasn’t played in the NFL since 2010 and spent time last season on the 49ers’ practice squad.
The Cardinals have also signed Yeremiah Bell, Antoine Cason, Jonathon Amaya and Jerraud Powers as free agents.
