Patriots not considering signing Terrell Owens

Tom Brady and Terrell Owens are working out together. But they’re not going to be teammates.

Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports that nothing is going on between the Patriots and Owens.

Because Brady and Owens are working out together in Los Angeles (along with players including Danny Amendola and Matt Cassel), and because the Patriots could use another receiver, speculation arose that perhaps the Patriots would consider Owens. But that sounds more like idle talk during a slow time in the offseason than like something Bill Belichick would actually consider.

Owens, who will turn 40 in December, still wants to play in the NFL. But he lasted less than three weeks in Seahawks training camp last summer, and hasn’t played in a regular-season game since 2010. It’s hard to see Owens making it back in the NFL, and if he does, it won’t be in New England.
