The Raiders, in a move that helps bolster their cornerback ranks, have agreed to a contract with Mike Jenkins, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Monday night.
Jenkins was a regular starter in three of his five seasons in Dallas, but not in 2012, when Morris Claiborne and Brandon Carr played ahead of him. The 28-year-old Jenkins has intercepted eight passes and made 48 starts since entering the NFL in 2008.
The Raiders, who had to scramble at cornerback a season ago because of injuries, have added some new faces at the position in the last week, first bringing in Tracy Porter and now agreeing with Jenkins, a 2008 first-rounder of Dallas.
Jenkins was No. 55 on PFT’s Free Agent Hot 100.
