The Bengals, who could stand to add another player or two to their running back corps, brought in free agent Felix Jones for a tryout, Bryan Broaddus of DallasCowboys.com reported Monday.
Jones rushed for 402 yards and three touchdowns on 111 carries for the Cowboys in 2012. He has rushed for 2,728 yards and 11 TDs in five NFL seasons, all with Dallas. However, Jones gained a career-low 3.6 yards per carry a season ago.
The Bengals have an established starting tailback in BenJarvus Green-Ellis but are in need of more depth with Cedric Peerman and Dan Herron the only other backs on the roster. Peerman is a solid special-teamer who comes off his best season as a rusher (258 yards on 36 carries), while Herron, a second-year pro from Ohio State, appeared in just three games as a rookie.
