Bears, Andre Fluellen reach deal

The Bears and defensive tackle Andre Fluellen have reached agreement on a one-year contract, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reported on Tuesday.

Fluellen’s agent, Jerrold Colton, also reported the agreement on Twitter.

The 28-year-old Fluellen appeared in five games last season — two with Miami, then three with Detroit, including the season finale vs. Chicago, a game in which he started and assisted on three tackles.

A third-round pick of the Lions in 2008, Fluellen (6-2, 302) has recorded 52 tackles in 56 career games (six starts). He will likely compete for a reserve role along the interior of the Bears’ defensive line.

The Bears also agreed with reserve defensive end Kyle Moore on Tuesday, PFT reported.

Not sure how many of these one-year players will be on the roster by season start but I beleive as it stands after the 2013 season is done the Bears will only have around 12 players under contract (not including RFA’s). That’s insane … but I like it!

    Keep on rebuilding Emery.

Never heard of him, and doubt he will still be on the roster come September.

He is a great depth guy. He will never be a starter but I was hoping the Lions would resign him

@filthymcnasty you do understand alot of good players came from the CFL right? Because sometimes scouts in the NFL make a mistake by overlooking a guy and that guy then comes to Canada. From then on he dominates the CFL and finally when he has his shot in the NFL he’s a dominant player. See Cameron Wake or Brandon Browner.

Emery is changing the Bears and for
better or worse… He needs to do just that. Emery is NOT putting his Job in the same hands that Lovie and Jerry did and I dont blame him.
