Brandon Jacobs trying to get Giants to notice him

You have to give Brandon Jacobs credit for trying.

The not-subtle former free agent running back is trying to rekindle the flames with his old team.

Jacobs recently uploaded a photo to Instagram of him in his Giants days with the caption “Trying to get back in this uniform.” And a source told the New York Post that the Giants “have not ruled out,” bringing him back.

“He’d love to return to New York, obviously,’’ the source said.

The Post also reports that there have been no formal discussions toward that end, which make it look like Jacobs pining away and nothing more.

There’s a reasonable case to be made that he’d fit, with Ahmad Bradshaw gone, leaving the burden of the run game on David Wilson and Andre Brown.

But there’s also no compelling reason for the Giants to be in a hurry on this one. There hasn’t been much market for the 30-year-old running back after he pouted his way out of San Francisco, and he’ll probably be waiting there by the window in case they ever decide to call.
