In Southern California, a stadium that has yet to get the green light to be built has a naming-rights deal. In Northern California, the opposite is true.
That could be changing, soon.
According to Andy Dolich of CSNBayArea.com, the 49ers new stadium in Santa Clara “are closing in on a naming rights partner.” Per Dolich, three companies are pursuing the privilege of attach their name to the venue, with an expected expenditure in the range of $12 million to $14 million per year.
Mega-firm CAA is assisting the Niners in the search for a naming-rights partner for the new stadium, which already has sold hundred of millions in personal seat licenses and tickets.
