Chris Maragos signs tender with Seahawks, Brady Quinn deal official

The Seattle Seahawks announced Thursday restricted free agent safety Chris Maragos had signed his tender to remain with the team for next season.

Maragos was given a right of first refusal tender by the Seahawks meaning they could match any offer sheet Maragos signed with another team. Maragos will make $1.323 million with Seattle next season. All of Seattle’s restricted free agents have re-signed with the team as Maragos joins defensive tackle Clinton McDonald and long snapper Clint Gresham in signing their tenders.

Maragos has served primarily as the backup to Earl Thomas at free safety and as a special teams stalwart. He appeared in all 16 games for Seattle last season and recorded 11 tackles.

The team also announced quarterback Brady Quinn has officially signed with the team after agreeing to terms on a deal with the Seahawks on Tuesday.

how many core players did they retain now? all of them?

great moves from seattle. they probably gave up too much for Percy but with the depth they have it’s kind of irrelevant.

hopefully they improve on the field and come back with 110% effort. that is truly what got them in the wildcard last year, and it will be the reason they go if they do in the 2013-2014 season.

good luck from the east coast to the west.

Chris is a highschool buddy of mine. His mom, Mrs. Maragos still teaches at Horlick High School in Racine, Wi. He’s an all around great guy. Although now that he’s an NFL guy, he’s a bit busier in the summer.

    We want the division

Curious how Brady Quinn gets paid to be a back up. Could be close to Russell Wilson undervalued contract?

Brady Quinn, zombie quarterback. Can’t help you, might harm you, won’t die.

We want a lot more than the Division, but that’s an excellent start!

Decent player but truth be told, he is a 49er reject and career backup player.
The following players / personnel are Niner castoffs
    1. Michael Robinson (FB)
    2. Chris Maragos (FS)
    3. Brett Swain (WR)
    4. Mike Person (OG)
    5. Personnel Director – Scott McClueless(drunk)

Congrats to all Seachickens fans on these fine young men .

Chris Maragos – I think we all know he is a special teams guy- when I read back up Earl Thomas- I just can’t imagine ET going down and Chris becoming a member of Legion Of Boom. Jerone Johnson & Guy both see the field on defensive packages a bunch more.

@seatownballer Too bad bro. Have fun as the wild card again.

Brady Quinn, I get a good chuckle out of that one.

@ninerhaters: You guys lets Mike Rob go and all he did was become a pro bowl full back. Shows the lack of ability to spot talent. I cannot wait to see you guys whining after the hurtin we lay on you. Have fun missing the playoffs at 8-8 behind the rams.

We’ll take “castoffs” like M Rob and Maragos all day. Possibly the best Fullback in the game and a stud gunner on special teams, last time I checked you need guys like that to make a complete team.

Swain and Person are camp bodies..every team has them, even yours.

Scot McCloughan happens to be a valuable cog of a pretty successful personnel dept, happy to have him. As for him being drunk….Aldon Smith got a DUI last year so I guess you should just cast him off up to us too, since you seem to think the 9ers set a higher standard than any other team.

All the negative karma the 9ers fans lay on Seatown and our team, WILL come back to bite the gold helmets in their buttinskis.

The 49er fan tried to name players (3 non-starters so he’s reaching) but the fact he named probably the best full-back in football and main reason we have top special team in Robinson. McCloughan is exceptional executive & evaluator. Look at Seattle 2012 draft and look at San Frans. Not trying to imply that he is calling the shots because the JS/PC but 49er draft class is full of busts and they are missing something.

I truly believe we should draft Tyrann Mathieu aka The Honey Badger in the 3rd or 4th round. Gotta feeling he’s gonna beast in the League as a nickle back. I know we got Winfield I just believe we’re gonna regret not drafting him…. Btw why Quinn over Seneca?? Thought he’d be perfect fit for the read option….
