The other Alex Smith has landed in Cincinnati.

Tight end Alex Smith, who spent the last three seasons with the Browns, has signed with the Bengals. The signing had been expected for the last week and was announced by the Bengals today.

Last year Smith played more H-back than pure tight end in the Browns’ offense, appearing in 12 games with two starts and catching 13 passes for 47 yards. A third-round pick of the Buccaneers in 2005, Smith has played in 103 career games, with 55 starts, and has 160 catches for 1,461 yards and 12 touchdowns.

In Cincinnati Smith joins a tight end depth chart that also includes Jermaine Gresham, Orson Charles and Richard Quinn.

He’s got good hands. His blocking was a bit overrated. Decent pickup. I always liked him.

Browns must be confident in getting a tight end in the draft…

Are you serious with the good hands and the overrated blocking? Flip it, because thats what it is…stone hands and a good blocker.
