Jets bring back Calvin Pace

The Jets sent Calvin Pace packing as part of their spring salary cap cleaning. But now that he’s cheaper, he’s back.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Jets have agreed to bring Pace back on a one-year deal.

While the 32-year-old Pace has declined (he has 13 sacks the last three seasons), he’s a familiar part.

They should still be looking to draft more pass-rush help, but until they do, he gives them the benefit of a body to pencil into the lineup opposite Antwan Barnes. At this point, that’s all he is.

Once again you disparage a player you have no idea about. Pace is still a serviceable OLB, setting the edge and being productive against the run, he just wasn’t worth the 11 million dollar cap charge if they had retained him at the original contract. The team will definitely be bringing in youth to the LB position but having a crafty veteran at a minimal cost is a smart move.

happy to see Calvin back on the squad! Defiantly still a serviceable player, and should provide some good veteran awareness and knowledge for any rookies that should be coming in this year.

I wouldn’t call him a beast but def worth a vet min to bring him back. You just don’t wan’t him to have to drop n cover ANYONE ever. Solid cheap vet signing though.
