ProFootballTalk: Bears GM clears up Urlacher situation

Bears GM Phil Emery made it very clear that there were no surprises between the organization and Brian Urlacher. Former GM Scott Pioli believes the team made a fair offer to Urlacher and it’s quite possible the future hall of fame linebacker will regret his decision to leave Chicago.

This is still hard for some of us fans. I know Urlacher has been less than charitable in his assessment of us at times, and I know it’s a business, yadda-yadda.

But the MLB position in Chicago is to say the least a storied one, and he played the position for us at star-level. Seeing him go is tough, and even if he thought I was just another stupid fan that knows nothing, I tip my hat to him.

It was a pleasure watching him play for the Bears, and he’ll be missed.

Brian should have never said: I’ll play for 2 million, but not for the Bears….. What’s up with that?

Urlacher had better realize his true value if he wants to play anymore in the NFL.
