William Moore arrested for battery

A relatively quiet offseason for the NFL’s legal docket had a blip on the radar screen Thursday.

According to D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Falcons safety William Moore has been arrested for simple battery.

“We are aware of the situation involving William Moore and are in the process of gathering more information,” a Falcons spokesperson told Ledbetter.  “Because this is now a legal matter, the club will have no further comment at this time.”

Moore signed a five-year, $30 million deal last month to remain in Atlanta.  He’ll now be spending some of that money on a person who has “Esq.” in his or her title.

Before anybody jumps to conclusions .. simple battery could be simply restraining a person. With that said it could also mean hes accused of possesing a simple battery .. for all we know an off-brand AA could carry a sentence in some Georgia countys

Proof positive again that money ain’t the answer. If it was “the” answer the NFL would have nothing but, squeaky clean altar boys manning the teams.

It would be hilarious if he had to forfeit money due a clause he doesn’t get arrest within 30 days of signing a contract.

Care to elaborate? I followed the link and don’t see anything anywhere to explain what that’s supposed to mean. Not trying to be a jerk, just curious. I have a feeling it would make me chuckle. I’ve now seen/heard of players named Champ, Prince, Captain, Royal and yes, even God. Some people…

Headline should read “Another falcon has been arrested” if you were to be consistent with these situations…
