Patriots postpone Friday’s pre-draft press conference

AP

With the city of Boston under an almost total lockdown as law enforcement agencies work to round up the suspected Boston Marathon bombers and accomplices, questions about who the Patriots might take in next week’s draft seem especially trivial.

The Patriots apparently agree and have postponed their pre-draft press conference out of respect for what’s going on in the city on Friday.

“Due to the developing events of today, the Patriots have respectfully postponed their pre-draft press conference that was scheduled at Gillette Stadium today and will now hold the press conference on Monday, April 22 at 12:00 p.m,” the team said in a statement.

It’s the second time this week that the Patriots have postponed the press conference, which was originally scheduled for Tuesday and pushed back after the bombings on Monday.

  1. The entire city of Boston and surrounding areas are shut down. No public transportation/taxis available and authorities are asking everyone to stay home.Amtrak shut down service between Boston and Providence.

I am proud to say We Are Boston ! One terroist down and one to go.

  2. WTF?!? What could possibly be more important than the pre-draft press conference in Boston right now…?!

  3. Smart move by the usually smug and condescending “We make the rules” Patriots. There’s rarely anything interesting said at these pressers anyway.

I’m glad to see they have their priorities right this time.

  4. Thanks for your high moral support mazblast. Let it go for a couple days while this gets sorted out. Plenty of time to get back to your fruitless dislike for the patriots. More important things going on here

Too bad you couldn’t keep your priorities right and had to use this as a forum to bash the Pats instead of applauding law enforcement for the great job they’ve done on this.

    Shame on you.

  7. Why?? They couldn’t film the other teams war rooms!!!!! Yea, I said it, how many superbowls they won since they were exposed!!!!!

  8. our country – our people are attacked and we’ve got people yapping about friggin’ spy gate ?

    Are you dudes high ?
This is a “U-S-A!” moment, not a “Gerrrh! Patriots!” moment.

  9. I am sure Bellichek the “Great Communicator” was very disappointed. He will likely milk this for months.

I hope Boston gets those jerks.

  10. People are that envious of the Patriots that even now with all the craziness going on in Boston they can’t let it go.

Save your whining and bellyaching for when the Patriots are beating your team. Now is not the time.

We’ve got dead cops, and that’s what you want to say? I can only assume bad parenting. Sorry you didn’t have loving parents like I did.

  12. Those kind of comments just shows how low people are there’s a special place for people that petty and its not here.

Why don’t you go up to Boston and tell them how you feel their face see what happens. You people are ridiculous.

You want to complain about Spygate when 200 people are injured 4 dead and the whole city is on lockdown that’s just pathetic. Stay classy.

What does it take to get a posting deleted?

Clearly, there are unclear standards that have to be clouded to be made misunderstood by a few.

  14. I feel for Boston but I know theres no tougher SOBs in this country. New Orleans applauds your law enforcement agencies. Who dat gonna catch a crazy wicked beating today??

  15. It’s kind of embarrassing that a 19 year old has made the FBI look so dopey. Blessings to all the victims and families.

  16. Yea, I said it, how many superbowls they won since they were exposed

The rule they broke was created in 2006.

Hold off on that MENSA application.

  17. In the meantime, Bill will be breaking down extra draft film while eating a Quizno’s on the exercise bike.

  18. We better not find Bill Belichek sunning himself in the Bahamas after postponing a media press conference!

…like some other coach did. (oh the humanity! the poor press didn’t get their smokescreen verbiage for the day!)
