Bengals work out Cyprien

Cyprien

The Bengals could go in plenty of different directions with the 21st overall pick in the draft. Despite plenty of veterans at every level of the defense, the Bengals would benefit from youth at every level, too.

Especially safety.

And so they’re doing their due diligence with Florida International’s Jonathan Cyprien. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer will put Cyprien through a private, on-campus workout on Monday.

The Bengals arguably could trade down and get Cyprien later in round one. Or possibly at the top of round two.

Then again, there’s a chance he’ll be gone by the time the Bengals are on the clock at 21.

That’s part of the frustrating-yet-fascinating nature of this year’s draft. There are few locks, and there is little clarity about the manner in which the top of the draft will unfold.
